In a move that has become rare in the gaming industry, it has been revealed that the physical (Blu-ray) version of Battlefield 6 on PlayStation 5 includes the full game on the disc. This means you won’t need large downloads or mandatory updates before starting to play, whether in the story mode or multiplayer. 

Reports from the official “Reddit” community and several players who received their copies early confirmed that the game ran directly from the disc, and the multiplayer servers were accessible without any delays or additional downloads. 

This step is considered a departure from the common trend recently, as most modern games now require massive day-one updates. It’s being seen as evidence of the development team’s focus on technical stability, even across lower-spec devices. 

According to estimates, the game has received over 1.7 million pre-orders and is expected to surpass 5 million sales in its first week after launch. 

Battlefield 6 launches globally on October 10, 2025 for PC and next-gen consoles. Having the full content on disc may allow players to start playing instantly and avoid long download waits.
