Arc Raiders Producer Promises 10-Year Live Service Roadmap for the Shooter

Immediately after its launch, executive producer Alexander Grøndal offered a glimpse at the future of the anticipated shooter Arc Raiders, announcing that the development team plans to make the game a live service that lasts ten years or more, with ongoing storytelling and a gradual evolution of the narrative and world.

In an interview, Grøndal described the game world—a robotic invasion followed by war—as only the beginning of a broader story. He explained that players are expected to explore, complete missions, and uncover hidden details to understand the full arc, with the experience designed to continue until 2035 and beyond.

This strategy builds on the success of live-service models such as Helldivers 2, which have maintained their presence for years through continuous support, positioning Arc Raiders to pursue a similar path rather than being just a traditional release. The team aims to avoid the fate of services that faltered despite cinematic ambitions.

For players, this means their investment of time and progression may yield returns over an unusually long period. If this roadmap materializes, the series could evolve into a rich world of missions, discoveries, and seasonal updates—rather than being limited to a single game. Expect new content, evolving world-building, and sustained engagement for years to come.
