New Wolfenstein Game Reportedly in Development at MachineGames
After years of silence and speculation, it appears that one of the most iconic first-person shooter franchises may finally be making a return. New reports indicate that a new Wolfenstein game is currently in development at MachineGames, marking the first substantial update following a subtle tease from the studio earlier this year.
Journalist Jez Corden from Windows Central stated, citing internal sources, that the next Wolfenstein project is actively being worked on. This claim was further reinforced by Kotaku, which reported that it had independently confirmed the same information through its own source. The presence of multiple credible sources significantly strengthens the legitimacy of the report, pushing it beyond the realm of mere rumors.
Although MachineGames is reportedly working on multiple projects at the moment, including a multiplayer-focused title said to draw inspiration from Rainbow Six Siege, the studio has allegedly dedicated a separate team to the development of the new Wolfenstein installment.
What makes this timing particularly interesting is the broader context surrounding the franchise. An official Wolfenstein TV series is currently in production at Amazon Prime Video, suggesting a coordinated effort to revive the brand across different media platforms.
Speculation around the series reignited last September, when MachineGames indirectly hinted that a third entry in the modern Wolfenstein saga could happen in the future. Just one month later, additional leaks surfaced, pointing toward Wolfenstein as the studio’s next major project.
While no official announcement has been made yet, the growing number of consistent reports suggests that Wolfenstein’s return may be closer than fans expect.
