Sony Officially Announces a New State of Play Event for February 12
After weeks of rumors and speculation, Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced a new State of Play broadcast, scheduled for February 12.
The presentation will air at 1:00 AM Saudi Arabia time on Friday, which places it just after midnight on Thursday in several regions, effectively making it a February 13 broadcast due to time zone differences.
According to Sony, the upcoming State of Play will run for more than 60 minutes, making it one of the longest episodes the company has hosted in recent years. The broadcast will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch, as usual.
Sony confirmed that the showcase will feature a wide range of upcoming titles, including both first-party and third-party games. This extended runtime has fueled expectations of major reveals and significant updates, positioning the event as a key moment in Sony’s 2026 lineup.
Earlier today, several rumors circulated online suggesting potential announcements during the show. Among the most notable claims is a possible reveal of Devil May Cry 6 by Capcom. Additional speculation points toward a new trailer or release date update for Marvel’s Wolverine.
Some reports have suggested that Marvel’s Wolverine could launch in September, following the appearance of a potential release window on the Latin American PlayStation Store, indicating a third-quarter 2026 release. However, no official confirmation has been provided so far.
Despite the excitement, expectations remain tempered regarding blockbuster appearances such as Grand Theft Auto VI, especially after Rockstar Games confirmed that its official marketing campaign will not begin until the summer.
Still, Sony has a long history of surprising audiences, and with a 60-minute runtime confirmed, the upcoming State of Play on February 12 could hold more than a few unexpected announcements.
