Astro Bot Sales Pass 4.3 Million Copies as PS5 Platformer Reaches Major Milestone

Astro Bot has reportedly crossed a major sales milestone, with new estimates from research firm Alinea Analytics suggesting that the PlayStation 5 platformer has sold more than 4.3 million copies since its launch in September 2024.

According to the report, the game has generated around $250 million in gross revenue, making it one of Sony’s notable success stories for the current PlayStation generation. The numbers highlight the strong commercial performance of a title that quickly became one of the most beloved PS5 exclusives.

The report also estimates that Astro Bot sold around 600,000 copies during 2026, adding roughly $33 million to its total revenue. That continued momentum shows that the game is still attracting new players well after its original release window.

For a 3D platformer released exclusively on PS5, this performance is especially significant. The genre does not always dominate modern sales charts, but Astro Bot managed to stand out thanks to its polished gameplay, charming world design, and strong connection to PlayStation’s history.

The success of Astro Bot also strengthens the position of Team Asobi as one of PlayStation’s most important creative studios. After years of growing interest around the character, the full PS5 adventure appears to have proven that Astro can carry a major standalone release.

With more than 4.3 million copies sold and strong revenue behind it, Astro Bot has become far more than a charming platformer. It is now a clear commercial hit for Sony, and its performance may open the door for a bigger future for the franchise.
